Following defeats in their initial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations assignments, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan will seek to get back to winning ways when they do battle at Stade Mohammed V on Sunday evening. Kick-off is at 17:00pm CAT.

In what was one of the games of the tournament so far, Burkina Faso claimed a stunning last gasp 2-1 win against Equatorial Guinea at Stade V Mohammed on Wednesday, 24 December.

Marvin Anieboh put Equatorial Guinea ahead in the 85th minute but surrendered their lead to stoppage time efforts by Georgi Minoungou and Edmond Tapsoba thereafter.

Sudan on the other hand, were on the end of a damaging 3-0 defeat against Algeria at the Moulay Hassan Stadium on Wednesday.

As it stands, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan occupy third and fourth position in Group E respectively.

Reflecting on Sudan’s loss to Algeria, coach Kwesi Appiah reserved special praises for The Fennec Foxes’ as a tough opponent in their Group.

“We were up against a stronger side,” Appiah said.

“This Algerian team has serious quality in every aspect. We will do everything to bounce back in the next game.”
