Manchester United star Amad Diallo recently expressed his sadness following Ruben Amorim’s sacking at Old Trafford and revealed how the Portuguese mentor showed him the ropes.

Amorim, who was relieved of his duties as United coach last week, played a vital role in Diallo’s rise in English football during the last year.

Amid being utilized in various positions, Diallo ultimately cemented his place in United’s starting XI under Amorim and is now considered to be one of the best up talents in the Premier League.

“It was a tough topic. I was a bit sad, because he’s the coach who gave me more visibility and more opportunities to play for Manchester United,” Diallo told BeIN Sport, as per Manchester Evening News.

“I was very sad. I even sent him a message to thank him for everything he did for me, both in my life and especially in my career.

“I wished him good luck wherever he goes. It was a difficult moment for me,

“We had a very good relationship, almost like a father-and-son relationship. He understood me, and gave me a lot of advice, and let me play freely.”
