The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has announced it will face Scotland in an international friendly in March in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The federation announced the fixture on Monday via its social media accounts.

The fixture will be played on 31 March at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool, England, the new home of Everton.

The Elephants will be looking to improve their performance ahead of the World Cup, which begins on 11 June, after a disappointing performance at the Africa Cup of Nations over December and January.

They failed to defend their title, falling to Egypt 3-2 in the tournament’s quarterfinal.

Scotland secured its return to the global showpiece after a 28-year absence and will be in group C with Brazil, Morocco and Haiti.

The Ivorians will be in group E with Germany, Ecuador and Curaçao.
