Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester United and Cameroon attacker Bryan Mbeumo has been one of the best signings in the Premier League this season.

Alongside names such as Matheus Cunha, Senne Lammens and Benjamin Sesko, Mbeumo has been a success story for the Red Devils since his big money move from Brentford in June 2025.

The African star was said to be on the radar of Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham en-route to choosing Carrington as his preferred destination.

Nonetheless, Mbeumo played a major role in United’s 1-0 win over Everton in the Premier League on Monday night, as he provided the assist for Sesko’s late effort.

According to Carragher, Mbeumo stands head and shoulders above all aquistions made in the initial transfer window of the 2025/26 campaign.

“He’s been the best signing in the Premier League,” Carragher said on Sky Sports, as per Stretty News.

Since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, Mbeumo has scored and assisted in five out of six Premier League games, taking his tally to nine goals and three assists for the season.
