Comoros will aim to conclude their group stage campaign with a victory over Mali in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) fixture on Monday.

Kick-off is at 2:30 pm CAT.

The matchday three Group A match is scheduled to be played at the Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco and the country’s economic and business centre.

The Coelacanths drew 0-0 with Zambia in their second Group A fixture on December 26 and the draw extended their winless run to four matches across all competitions under coach Stefano Cusin.

Comoros are placed fourth in the Group D standings and a victory over Mali could be enough to earn the COSAFA side a place in the Round of 16, depending on other results.

“We are still on the right path in this tournament. We lost to Morocco, drew against Zambia, and still have a match ahead against Mali,” Comoros head coach Stefano Cusin said after the Zambia draw.

“I believe our chances are still alive. We will play with the same strength we are known for. We must win the final match and reach four points, which would allow us to continue in the tournament.”

Meanwhile, Malii drew 1-1 with hosts, Morocco, on December 26 and they are now unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions.

The Eagles are placed second in the Group A standings and avoiding a defeat against Comoros should be enough to earn the West African side a spot in the Round of 16.

“I am satisfied with my team’s performance. We will work towards instilling more confidence and prepare accordingly for the next match because we need a victory,” Mali head coach Tom Saintfiet said after the Morocco draw.

“I hope Zambia give everything to get point against Morocco. We will also give everything to win our match. Finishing top of the group will make things easier for us later.”

Comoros and Mali have met twice across all competitions since their maiden meeting in March 2025.

The Eagles boast an unbeaten record against the Coelacanths, having won their first two matches.

The last meeting between the two nations ended in a 3-0 win in favour of Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Berkane Municipal Stadium, Berkane (Morocco) in September 2025.
