The second half of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage approaches on Sunday, with all 16 teams involved as the tournament inches towards its business end.
All 16 sides in action on Sunday, facing old foes as they match-up for the second leg against the same opponents as last week’s encounters.
The fixtures promise to provide an exciting day of football as clubs try best to position themselves for the approaching knockout stage.
Sunday’s first fixture kicks-off at 2pm CAT as AS Maniema Union hosts Wydad AC at the Stade TP Mazambe in Lubumbashi.
Wydad are firmly in control of group B, having won all three of its games in the competition. Maniema Union is close behind, having managed six points with two wins and one loss.
If the Congolese club can claim a victory, they would pull level with Wydad at the top of the group. However, Wydad claimed a 1-0 victory at home when the two sides met last Sunday and will be looking to replicate the result.
Three games will take place at 3pm CAT as Kaizer Chiefs face ZESCO United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, AS Otohô will look to overcome Singida Black Stars at the Stade Alphonse Massamba Débat in Brazzaville, and Stellenbosch will aim to bounce back against CR Belouizdad at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
Chiefs managed to edge past ZESCO last weekend, winning 1-0 in Ndola to claim its first win in the competition. AmaKhosi have four points while ZESCO are rooted to the bottom with zero points, having lost all three of the club’s games. The Zambian outfit will need a win in order to stay in the fight for a knockout stage spot.
AS Otohô will be looking for revenge, having fallen 1-0 to Singida Black Stars last weekend. With just one win, Otohô is at the bottom of group C, but is only one point off of both Stellenbosch and Singida Black Stars.
Stellenbosch was dealt its first loss of the campaign last weekend, falling 1-0 to CR Belouizdad in Algiers. Now hosting the Algerian club in Cape Town, the Maroons will be looking to snatch top spot in group C back and could do so with a win.
At 6pm CAT, Azam will face Nairobi United at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, and Djoliba AC tackles USM Alger at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.
Azam managed to overcome Nairobi United last weekend, winning 2-1 in the Kenyan Capital. Nairobi United have not managed to register a point yet, while Azam has managed one win and claimed three points.
Djoliba is rooted to the bottom of group A with no points to show for their efforts, while USM Alger is at the opposite end of the table with a perfect three wins from three games. The Algerian outfit will be looking for a second straight victory over Djoliba.
The last two games of the day will take place at 9pm CAT, with Al Masry and Zamalek meeting at the New Suez Stadium in Suez, and OC Safi hosting San-Pédro at the Stade El Massira in Safi.
The two Egyptian sides played out a goalless draw last weekend. Al Masry are top of group D with seven points while Zamalek sits just two points behind. Zamalek will be looking to overtake their fellow Egyptian club.
OC Safi has managed six points from its three games and sits three points behind group A leaders USM Alger. San-Pédro is in third place with three points, having lost to the Moroccan club last weekend.
All 16 teams will be looking for positive results with only three matchdays remaining until the knockout stage participants are decided.
