The 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup group stage is set for a dramatic conclusion this weekend, as teams clash across the continent to secure their spots in the knockout stage.
With group C and group A’s top two already set, groups B and D will provide high stakes clashes.
Three matches will take place on Saturday, with the remaining five set to provide a super Sunday.
The first two fixtures of the weekend will kick-off at 6pm CAT on Saturday in Egypt, as Al Masry hosts Zesco United at the New Suez Stadium in Suez, and Zamalek welcome Kaizer Chiefs to the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.
Group D’s knockout spots are still up for grabs, with three teams vying for two spots. Chiefs sit atop the group with 10 points. A draw against the Egyptian giants will be enough to see AmaKhosi through. Zamalek are second with eight points, while Al Masry has seven. Zesco United is out of the race but still poses a serious threat, having overcome Zamalek last weekend. Both Egyptian sides will be looking for victories to secure their spots in the next round. Should Zamalek fail to win and Al Masry triumphs, the latter will advance.
Saturday’s action will finish with a 9pm CAT kick-off as USM Alger and OC Safi battle for top spot in group A at the 5 July 1962 Stadium in Algiers.
USM Alger is unbeaten in the group stage so far with four wins and one draw, and sits atop group A with 13 points. OC Safi has lost only one game and sits one point behind the group leaders. Both sides have already punched their tickets for the knockout stage.
Five fixtures will take place on Sunday, with the first of the day starting at 3pm CAT.
Maniema Union will look to confirm its trip to the next stage with a victory over struggling Nairobi United at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi.
The Congolese team sits second in group B, three points behind Wydad and level with Azam. The club will need to produce a better result or the same as Azam, while maintaining its advantage on goal difference. Nairobi United is playing for pride and looking to end its campaign with at least a point, having failed to register one thus far.
Group B’s second clash between Wydad and Azam at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca will kick-off at 4pm CAT.
In control of the group, Wydad needs a draw to advance, while Azam will be looking for a victory and hoping for Maniema Union to slip up. The Tanzanian outfit will need to do better than Maniema in order to advance, with the two sides level on points.
The last three games of the group stage will kick-off at 6pm CAT, wrapping up the weekend and the group stage’s action.
CR Belouizdad and AS Otohô will be jostling for top spot in group C at the Stade de Nelson Mandela in Algiers.
Belouizdad currently leads the charge with a three point advantage over AS Otohô. Both sides have already booked their spots in the knockout round, but the hosts will be looking to get revenge for their first meeting, which Otohô won 4-1.
Having already been bounced for knockout contention, both Djoliba and San Pédro, and Stellenbosch and Singida Black Stars will be playing for pride at the Stade 26 Mars in Bamako and the DHL Stadium in Cape Town respectively.
