Guinea captain Naby Keita has signed a permanent deal with Hungary’s biggest and most successful football club, Ferencvárosi TC.
The veteran midfielder joined the Greens from German side Werder Bremen on a one-year loan deal in January 2024 and they had an option to purchase the player.
Keita has so far made 28 appearances and provided five assists for Ferencvárosi, which has convinced the Budapest-based outfit to trigger the purchase option in the loan agreement.
“You officially belong here with us, Naby Keita,” a club statement read.
“The BL-winning footballer arrived in December 2024 as a loan player, but now he has finally become a player of our club.”
The UEFA Champions League and English Premier League winner, Liverpool FC, has brought some impeccable experience and quality to Ferencvárosi.
Keita has also earned 58 caps and was part of their squad at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, 2019, 2021 and 2023.
The 30-year-old represented Guinea at the 2024 Summer Olympics and was chosen as his country’s flag bearer.
