Former Democratic Republic of the Congo international Nathan Idumba has joined Al Ahly SSC of the Libyan Premier League from South Africa’s Chippa United.
Idumba first arrived in South Africa in December 2024, signing for Cape Town City from Norwegian outfit Vålerenga. He jumped ship from the Citizens at the end of the 2024/25 season as the club was relegated from the Betway Premiership, joining Chippa United to stay in the top flight.
The Chilli Boys have struggled greatly in the league and sit one point off the bottom of the table. The Eastern Cape outfit have managed only two wins to go alongside six draws and eight losses.
Idumba has started 12 of Chippa’s 16 league games this season, playing 1,069 minutes.
The 26-year-old has notched 11 caps for the Leopards, but has not appeared for the national team since September 2022.
The Benghazi-based club sits fourth in group three of the Libyan Premier League and is unbeaten after five games, having registered three draws and two wins.
