Hassania Agadir are pursuing legal action against coach Amir Abdou after he unilaterally terminated his contract via email to take over the Burkina Faso national team.

The Moroccan Botola Pro club confirmed receiving Abdou’s termination notice despite his ongoing contract (with about one-and-a-half seasons left or an extension option).

Hassania plan to use all FIFA/CAF regulatory measures to safeguard their rights, stability, and reputation, likely seeking compensation.

This follows Burkina Faso’s appointment of the Franco-Comorian coach on Sunday, March 1, replacing Brama Traore post the Stallions’ early 2025 AFCON exit.

“Hassania Agadir announces that it received, yesterday Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a message from coach Amir Abdou via the club’s official email, in which he informed of his decision to unilaterally terminate his contract with the club,” a club statement read.

“The club confirms that it will immediately apply all the competent legal and organizational procedures, in accordance with the regulations in force, to protect its rights, interests, and position, and to take all necessary measures to preserve the club’s stability and its fan base.

“The club reaffirms its commitment to following all required legal and regulatory steps to safeguard its interests.”

Hassania Agadir sit ninth in the Botola Pro standings with 15 points from 14 matches, three points clear of the relegation zone.
