Manchester United recently confirmed a transfer deal regarding one of Africa’s top prospects as the Red Devils continue to fine-tune their recruitment department.

Known for giving young footballers a chance at the highest level, United have recently announced that Sekou Kone will join Lausanne-Sport on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Mali youth international joined United from Guidars FC in August 2024 as a promising midfielder from the African continent and has since gone on to shine within the youth ranks at Carrington.

Kone, 20, will now hope to benefit from first-team football and also, exposure in the UEFA Conference League.

“Manchester United’s Sekou Kone has joined Lausanne-Sport on loan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance,” United confirmed on their official website.

“The exciting young midfielder will get a taste of first-team football in the Swiss Super League.

“Kone will also benefit from potential involvement in the UEFA Conference League when his new side face SK Sigma Olomouc in the upcoming play-off round.”
