Simba SC of Tanzania have announced a one-year extension for South African Rushine De Reuck.

The club announced on Sunday that it had exercised its option to extend his current deal for a further year.

De Reuck joined Simba at the start of the 2025/26 campaign from Mamelodi Sundowns after being on loan at Maccabi Petah Tikva in Israel for the second half of the 2024/25 season.

The centre back has been an integral part of the Simba squad this season, playing nine of the club’s 11 league games this season and bagging three goals. He also featured in all six of the club’s ill-fated CAF Champions League group D fixtures, which saw them finish bottom of the group with five points taken from one win, two draws and three losses.

Simba sits in joint third place in the Tanzanian Premier League after playing 11 matches, tied with Azam on 24 points, each with a goal difference of 14.

Despite their disappointing continental campaign, The Reds of Msimbazi have lost only one league game.

De Reuck will be hoping to make an impact as the season reaches its business end and Simba aim for top spot in the Tanzanian Premier League.

He will be pushing alongside fellow South Africans Neo Maema, who is at the club on loan from Sundowns, and head coach Steve Barker.
