As one of the clubs showing major interest in RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast star Yan Diomande, Manchester United have reportedly made a crucial decision in their bid to sign the 19-year-old winger.
Diomande has become one of the most talked-about transfer prospects in the last couple of months, with the likes of Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United having the player on their radar.
While United showed early interest in Diomande, recent reports suggest he prefers a move to Anfield.
Now, football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that United are not prepared to meet RB Leipzig’s valuation of the player. It’s believed the Bundesliga side wants €100 million for the teenager, a fee the Red Devils are unwilling to meet, given their mandate to prioritize their midfield department in the coming months.
“The name of Yan Diomande remains, for sure,” Romano said, as per TeamTalk.
“Liverpool are in conversations, in active talks, with the agency of Yan Diomande, Roc Nation Sports, the agency of Diomande.
“It’s not only Liverpool, because Paris Saint-Germain, I told you all of this already in January, but also Paris Saint-Germain are in conversation.
“Manchester United are following the player, but Man Utd have already informed people close to the player that they will not pay €100million for Diomande because the main investments will be made in midfield.
“So, at the moment, spending more than €100m again from Leipzig after the Sesko deal in summer 2025, at the moment, for Utd is considered too expensive.
“He’s a player they really like, but considered too expensive”.
