Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen proved his pedigree once more after scoring in the 3-0 win over Fenerbahce on Sunday despite nursing a fractured arm.

The Nigeria international has endured a stop-start season with the Lions since making his loan move from Napoli permanent in July.

Injuries have limited Osimhen to just 20 Super Lig appearances and he missed the last four games with a forearm fracture, but returned to the starting line-up for the Istanbul derby wearing a protective covering.

The 27-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 40th minute from close range to take his tally for campaign to 13 goals, helping Gala go seven points clear of their arch-rivals at the top of the table.

Osimhen expressed his gratitude to the club’s medical staff for getting him in the right frame of mind to do what he does best.

“I thank Dr. Yener and the medical team. They did a great job A full return is impossible, but they prepared me very well psychologically,” he said.

“We fought well as a team. We disappointed our fans in the cup. I’m proud of my team’s performance and happy about the victory.

“As in every derby, I can score against any team. That’s my job. I do it well.”
