Egypt captain Mohamed Salah could have played his final game for Liverpool FC after limping off with a suspected hamstring injury in the 59th minute of their 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

With only four fixtures left in the 2025-26 Premier League season — his last at the Reds’ before departing this European summer — the club’s Arne Slot admitted uncertainty over the extent of the issue and whether Salah will feature again.

Slot noted how rare it is for the 33-year-old to come off and praised his excellent body management over the years, but added that the short remaining schedule makes a return uncertain, raising the possibility that Anfield fans have seen the Egyptian legend in a red shirt for the final time.

“We don’t know, that’s the best answer I can give because if I say it might be a chance then probably all the headlines are, ‘there might be a chance…’” Slot said after he was asked in his post-match press conference if the problem could rule him out of the remaining four fixtures of the season.

“We simply don’t know but what we do know is the season is in four weeks over, so there are not a lot of games being played. We have to wait and see how his injury is and if he is able to return to play.

“What I do know about Mo is throughout all of these years he has taken such good care of his body that he will have the minimum time required to recover from an injury. Let’s hope for the best and that he is available in the last part [of the season].”

In the 2025/26 season, Salah has scored seven Premier League goals and provided six assists in 24 appearances (21 starts) for Liverpool, contributing 12 goals and nine assists across all competitions in 39 games.
