     Absa Financial institution Uganda has reaffirmed its dedication to the nation’s {golfing} neighborhood with a continued title sponsorship of UGX 185 million for the 2026 Absa Chairman’s Bell Golf Match (previously Captain’s Bell).

    The week-long match will tee off on Monday, 13 July 2026, and culminate in the primary occasion on Saturday, 18 July 2026, on the Uganda Golf Membership, Kitante.

    The Absa Chairman’s Bell Golf Match holds a prestigious place on Uganda’s sporting calendar. As a long-standing annual custom at Uganda Golf Membership, it serves as a ceremonial event marking the formal transition of management from the outgoing Membership Captain to the incoming Chairman.

    The 2026 version is predicted to draw 30 skilled golfers, 60 gross amateurs, and over 250 beginner gamers, competing throughout numerous classes.

    A standout spotlight this yr is the introduction of a devoted Caddies Match, an initiative geared toward recognising and elevating the important position caddies play in the sport. This new class displays Absa’s dedication to rising golf by creating alternatives for caddies to develop their abilities, acquire publicity, and progress towards skilled careers.

    A complete prize kitty of UGX 28 million has been allotted to reward top-performing opponents throughout the Caddies, Gross Beginner, and Skilled classes.

    Talking through the press briefing, David Wandera, Managing Director of Absa Financial institution Uganda, mentioned:

Our continued assist of the Chairman’s Bell displays our perception within the transformative energy of sport and our dedication to investing in Uganda’s {golfing} ecosystem.
